Cracked steel?

jfry 8/1/2019

I purchased the limited edition copper pro-line mixer from Williams Sonoma about a year and a half ago. I use my mixer very frequently as it is probably my favorite appliance and I bake a ton! Over all I love my mixer, as I should for how expensive they are! Recently my stainless steel mixing bowl has cracked and broken down the side in 2 places. I can't believe it! I'm extremely careful with these attachments. I always hand wash them. I was making buttercream last week, and all the sudden the bowl began to crack down the sides and they have progressively gotten worse. I can no longer even fit the bowl on the mixer. It is no longer a circle, but a deformed oval. And unfortunately there are no other replacement options. This is such a bummer for how much you pay for this product. And while making buttercream?? Whipping egg whites should NOT cause a problem like this!
